Updates....

It's time for a serious update!!! I'm going to try to do this more often, life has just been busy!
Carly is 9 months old now. I can't believe it. She's such a big girl!!! Carly is eating table food and crawling and standing up. She's learned a lot since Christmas time. She can say Dada and Hey. She can wave. She'll wave at you when you walk in the room, and when she's leaving the room. It's pretty cute.
She has her ears pierced now. A doctor did it...and it was completely painless....atleast for her. The doctor numbed her ears and voila! She's way cute with her ears pierced!!

A couple of weeks ago when it was warm, we were able to get in Todd's Mom's Pool. Carly LOVED it!! She would just swim away in her float!! When she was out of the float, she acted as if she wanted to just swim away. Maybe this summer we'll teach her how to swim.

Carly's First Christmas
Carly Beth's First Christmas was quite an event!!
Here she is with a gift she got from her Papaw Jim (aka Big Daddy) and Mamaw Ruth. She loves it! It's like the Price is Right Wheel but it makes animal sounds!

Here is Carly on her Alphabet Train. This is a way cool toy, and very educational!! She got it from her Granna and Papa! We've yet to really test out the wheels on it...but Carly enjoys the blocks.
Here is Carly and Jack on Christmas Morning. Santa was really good to both of them! Carly got some books, and much needed clothes, while Jack got some treats that are Apple and Peanut Butter Twists....and some chew toys.

Carly and her dog book!

Here are Carly and Mady on Christmas Eve. Mady was so adorable in her little Santa Hat!!

Here is Carly, just being her adorable self!

On Christmas Day, we had all Carly's Grandparents over for dinner - yes, all four sets! We had Low Country Boil - Shrimp, Potatoes, Corn on the cob, and Sausage - and we just poured it out on the table! We had a communal dinner...I bet Jesus did that once or twice in His day.

Here are Todd and Carly. I seem to always take better pictures of them, than Todd does of me. I need to teach him how to operate our camera!

Carly in a Santa Hat at her Mamaw Becky's House! She was so cute!!

Carly's First Christmas was very busy, but it was such a great time. It was such a blessing to spend time with our families...even if some visits had to be cut short because of "over lapping events". We are so thankful and so very blessed.

Cuddling with Carly

We don't hold Carly very much. Don't get me wrong, she gets LOTS of LOVE and AFFECTION...but we have tried super hard not to over cuddle her. It's paid off...she has slept through the night since she was just a couple weeks old, she is content just to play on her own, and she rarely ever cries.
Tonight, she had fallen asleep sitting on the couch next to me while we were watching tv, and I couldn't help myself. I picked her up and cuddled her as long as Todd would let me. Carly doesn't normally sleep anywhere but in her crib or pack n play. She's so used to going to sleep on her own, she fights it if you try to hold her...just ask her grandparents who try to force the issue! Cuddling Carly tonight reminded me of how wonderful motherhood truly is. It must sound silly, I've only been a mom for 5 months, but sometimes you get caught up in your routine and just forget to take the time just to cuddle. I suppose I should apply the same concept to my marriage.....
I picked this picture just because it's amazing how much she has changed in 5 months, and how much she has changed me. I pray every day that I'm the mom that God wants me to be for Carly. I know He picked Todd and I to raise her, she is our blessing.

Carly's Dedication
Proverbs 22:6 - Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. (NIV)
This past Sunday we had Carly Dedicated. What that means is we stood up infront of our church and promised to teach Carly about God and to bring her up with Christian values and faith. Todd and I decided to dedicate her to the Lord and save baptism until Carly chooses for herself that she's ready to be baptized.
After church, our families came to our home and had lunch. This picture is of Carly and all four sets of grandparents! Plus, Gangang who was the only great grandparent who attended. (Carly has 6 other Great Grandparents) We are so blessed that our families came to join with us for Carly's dedication. It means so much to us that they love and support us, and her.
We are blessed beyond belief.
